I'm signing a Spay/Neuter agreement for my puppy that states If I don't provide the certificate from the vet showing that the puppy was fixed within 6 months, then I can be subject to a $10,000 fine and any legal fee and possible reclaimation of the puppy.
I'm even providing a $1,000 deposit that I will get returned once the certificate is provided.
The breeder is going to hold all registration paperwork and genetic testing results until the certificate is recieved by her.
This particular breeder wanted to do Early Spay/Neuter and I expressed my concern for the long term health of the puppy. I presented peer-reviewed articles to her showing that there could in fact be some detrimental effects due to the lack of Hormones at that early age.
She agreed to find and implement and agreement and we agreed on the above terms.
I have no problem with this because I'm not trying to scam anyone.
I totally understand the need to protect the breeders interest. _________________ Diane |
