A friend who's done a lot of cooking and baking tells me that the chocolate with the reddish hue is Devils Food Chocolate. They used to put some Beet juice in the recipe to get it like that.

We sure are, a little boy. There are some more recent pictures posted here: http://labradoodle-dogs.net/forums/v...art=15#p159312 Hubby and I both like the pups with the black & the purple collar, but Todd says red collar might be less dominant (that's important because our old Aussie thinks she is boss & won't take kindly to being told otherwise) so we will have to wait a bit to see how their temperament is before we can make a final pick on 'which' little guy. Oh..by the way, funny story- today I went to visit a friend and brought my Aussie along, she usually ignores this ladies dog, today she walked up to it and body slammed it into the wall, then just walked away and the other dog was like 'what the heck' after that they did fine, and my dog didn't seem angry, growl or make any aggressive posturing just walked up and blam- shoves this poor dog into the wall.

Those puppies are coming along beautifully!!
That IS a unique shade of chocolate........ Does anyone know why they do 3 tests for PawsitiveID on chocolate? Does it have something to do with the difference hues? |

I didn't know that they did 3 tests for chocolate...I know that Chase carries two different genes for chocolate though...but I don't know what significance that has.
