Not to do with dogs, rather for our little non-fur pupple.......He can't fall off the floor.

Hmmmm. I have gotten tons of good advice from this forum.

Learning to laugh more from Annmarie was key!!! Especially, when its a soupy, foggy, drizzly day
and I decide to hook the hose back up with the watering wand and go out to the greenhouse to
water really well before another below freezing day gets here. Apparently the
wand had some water in it and froze, cracking the thing, so that when I got into the greenhouse and
pulled the trigger to start watering....the whole deal burst open and totally soaked me!!
I was all fixed up to leave and do some shopping when this idea of watering first hit me....now I am
sopping wet and shivering.

THEN, as I turned around to step outside the greenhouse....I see two doodles who obviously
nosed the sliding door open enough to get out and go for a romp in the only muddy spot in the yard!!!
I was in a real dilemma....all of us being a mess....who goes in first?? Who will get the towel....???
Three baths later and a complete scouring of the bathroom....did it for my day!
Sooooo, laughing instead of fuming made it much easier !!

AND the one piece of advice that has helped me immensely is to require them to
down stay and wait until I release them to eat their dinner. It does seem to have established
that I am alpha and if they want to eat, they had better get the drill. They do.

The best thing about training....starting early and being consistent....is that once they are two years old
things really gel together and they are so good!!!

Hey, Jac!
I remember that tip for jumping up on people that you mentioned.....

Abby has gotten back into this bad habit, so I am going to work on her using this technique.
Hope it works, cause she is really becoming obnoxious about it again.
I don't know how it got started again, but it has to stop. My folks may come down to visit...they
are 82 and quite wobbly...so Abby would totally knock them over in her exuberance.
Thanks for the reminder...I'm trying it!!!

Geesh, 2 edits!! Can't spell, or type today!
