Harold,
I had to respond to your posting to Jac.....I have been thinking about you and your family very much...since you first told us about Buddy's cancer last fall. My heart hurts for you. I can NOT imagine what you are feeling now. It really hits home since Abbie and Buddy are about the same age...plus, all doodle owners have a special bond! I pray for you during this time....the only comforting thing to know is that Buddy is out of pain and did not have to suffer anymore. You were so good to him and did all you could and more....You now have a guardian angel looking out for you, Lisa, and Jesse. Hang in there....as each day passes, I pray that it gets a little bit easier for you...... Hugs and Hugs! Susie and Abbie

Susie , thank you and I have found that we Doodle parents do share a special bond, we are very blessed to have them share their love with us. It has been so tough but, I do find great comfort in knowing he is watching us and I feel his blessed spirit in our home every second.
I do feel it was meant for Buddy and us to come together. I took out his paperwork today so I could track down the breeder and inform them of Buddy's genetic cancer. We had adopted him from a pet store and on the paper work it had the Hunte Corporation and the breeder was out of Spiro, OK (Glenda Craig). Well there was not a phone number so I did a yahoo search and discovered some horrible news about that company. I know Buddy was born with a horrible genetic disease he could not conquer, yet he needed us to be there and find him to give him the best 2 1/2 years of his life. My wife Lisa and I feel the Lord knew where he was and sent us there to find him. It is faith because her and I never thought of ever adopting pets through a Mall pet store since the rumors of them having genetic problems. Yet we found ourselves there and found Buddy. So it was faith and meant to be, Buddy was able to spend time with family that so loved him. I do still wish to contact the Breeder to let them know so another doodle does not have to suffer as Buddy did. |

Harold,
My heart goes out to you....Like I said, I have been thinking about you and Buddy since your first post back in October. You are a wonderful person to give Buddy such a great home, and so much love and care. You did all you could do and more. Buddy sounds like he got more love in 2 1/2 years than a lot of poor dogs get in their entire life. I do wish you luck in tracking down his breeder, or at least in spreading the word about the bad stuff that you found out.....like you said, get the message out there for other doodle lovers. Please keep us posted. I give you so much credit for even logging in to the forum....I know how hard it must be. Buddy's memory and spirit will live on for a very, very long time. Being the christian that I am, I believe that dogs go to heaven and their spirits will always be with us. Hopefully Jesse will feel better as time goes by. I'm thinking about her too! Hang in there and try to smile.... Susie and Abbie

Hi everyone...our dogs bring us together in some amazing ways...and I know that you have learned the lessons that I have learned...lessons that can only come from the deep, honest love that a human can feel for a dog and that a dog returns to its human...
We have been so blessed. Our dogs are blessed. I am grateful everyday that I have friends on this forum. Friends who understand how to love...my husband has said that he now realizes that the people he likes the best...all share a love for dogs. There is something very special in that kind of bond. Loving our dogs brings us intimately in touch with our own humanity...you guys are all so very special. |

Harold,
My deepest condolences to your family on the loss of your precious Buddy. I did a quick search and did find a Glenda Craig in Spiro, OK. She is a Kindergarten teacher and can be e-mailed thru the school website. Good Luck. http://www.spiro.k12.ok.us/elementary_lower_staff.htm Linda |
