Default What is a fun way to celebrate puppy's first birthday?

Our sweet Maggie is turning ONE on October 26. It is hard to believe! Anyway, I was trying to think of something fun to do to commemorate her birthday. i used to make fun of people who had birthday parties for their dogs, but my boys are begging for one. they want to invite all the dogs in the neighborhood...um...NO.

I did want to do something neat for the breeder who sold us Maggie. I don't have many good pics of Mag simply because she is a black labradoodle and hard to get photos of, but I was wondering if anyone had any fun ideas of what I could do to send to the breeder. Maybe a card with pictures of Maggie when she was little and current pictures (because she is HUGE now), or a little poem or something.

Anyway, i'm just looking for some ideas from you smart doodle owners/breeders.

Thanks!

For Bella we filled a huge bin with toys and let her to pull them out one by one

When her best friend Madge the lab comes for a sleepover they spend all night emptying their toy bin and having fun

I love the idea of a birthday party...but as a breeder, I love even more the fact that you want to do something for your breeder! Great idea and it will be very welcome!
I always enjoy hearing about the dogs, how they grow, their antics, their training (good and bad), what the vet/friends/strangers say, etc. So, I think it would be a great idea to start a blog in honor of your breeder...you can go to www.blogspot.com and get a free blog...you can upload pictures, you can write things...then keep a weekly journal of your dog (or daily) and send the link to your breeder in a card.
Breeders understand how hard it is to get good pictures of their black puppies...and we love all pictures...so no matter the quality, a blog page would be a welcome gift!
(I have a blog page to update my puppy pictures and even though I have a ton of pics, it continues to hold more!)
Happy birthday to your beloved Maggie!

I agree with Jac it is so nice as a breeder to hear how the dogs is doing and getting pictures of them also you could write a one year old testimonial for the breeder to put on their site this helps them for people to know that others are enjoying their dogs. But I would do the Blog thing also that Jac sugggested and then write to the breeder and send one picture for their site and then give them the link to the blog. I'm a little behind times I guess I really don't know what a blog is but if Jac says it's good I believe her!!

Actually I just remembered this and it just happened last night, We were rehoming one of our Labs we don't plan on raising anymore F1's and all we really wanted for her was to get a good loving home. She was not house broke because she lived in our Kennel but it is heated and airconditioned. Emma is almost 2 years old and they plan on house breaking her and everything so I feel anyone who will take a 2 year old dog and take the time and paitents to house break them they are going to be great owners. They arrived with a new hot pink collar and lead and bright pink toys for her, and Tammy said to Emma finally there is going to be another girl in the house it's her and her husband and at least teenage sons. Anyway when they were leaving with Emma she ask me again when Emma's B-Day was and I said the 23rd which is Monday so she turned and looked at her husband and 1 son and said we are going to have to have a B-Day party for her.

I know long story but it is a nice one...
