Default Dog food causing gas?

Doc has been having horrible gas in the evenings. Has anyone noticed that certain dog foods create more gas than others? I have him on Nature's Balance dog food. The one with rice and vegetables and I forget which kind of meat it has and I've thrown out the bag because I keep the dog food in a plastic container. I used to use Sensible Choice dog food with my Bichon Frise and toy poodle and they rarely had gas.

LOL Movistar.

After rereading my post, I realized that my toy poodle also eats the Nature's Balance dog food and doesn't have gas. So maybe, it's just the way Doc is.

Aha! Another light bulb just went off! Doc loves to go into my horse corral and eat horse poop! I bet all that digested grass gives him gas. Yuck. I am planning to start boarding my horse in January because I will be starting Nursing School and won't have much time for him. So, until then, I'll do my best to try to prevent Doc from eating the manure.

I think you hit the nail on the head..... our dane use to scavenge in the meadow and we could tell when he found good deer or elk poop cause we had to open the windows those nights

Some foods will cause more gas than others but I bet in this case it might be the horse Poop

When we lived in Missouri we had a lttle Sht Zui (sp?) and he loved to roll in the chicken poop
