New to doodles/hunting

Hi, Not yet a doodle owner but thinking of getting one to hunt with/primarily waterfowl, doves, etc... I have contacted a gentleman that has a chocolate f1b, male. The pup weighs 6lbs at 6 weeks old.

Will this dog be big enough to hunt waterfowl? What should the typical size be. The father (standard poodle) is 22" tall and weighs 50 lbs. The mother (f1) is 20" tall and weighs about 50 lbs. I appreciate any tips or advice. I want to make sure my 10-15 year committment is the right decision. Thanks! By the way, please feel free to email me any good advice and info you may have as well.
