Default I have decided it's ALL natural for Bogart!

After listening to a video by Dr. Becker who is linked to Dr. Mercola, I decided to make some BIG changes in Bogart's chew treats and regular treats.

I started by purchasing the bones they provide that not only clean the teeth, but contain NOTHING but the best ingredients. They come individually wrapped and amount to $1.91 per bone. My budget doesn't allow for all these extra's so I told my husband....NO SHARING.....with Bogart's buddies! MY BAD! but, MY BUDGET!

Then, I went to another site that is actually located about 1/2 hr from my home. Wanting to do this quickly, I opted to have them sent to me.....and next time, I will avoid shipping by driving out there.

If you're interested, google Gibdog Pet Supplies.

I have never given my dogs rawhide. This company makes a Sweet Potato version that is as tough and long lasting as rawhide. At first, Bogart didn't know what to do with it! But, he loved the smell and ran in the other room to try it out. He gnawed off about 1/3 of it and left it alone. He came back about an hour later and chewed some more.
Since Bogart is not a chewer, it's still there...actually I put it up while cleaning house and forgot about it.
Then, I purchased an 8oz bag of Cheesy Stars as treats for walking & when he deserves a treat. They are large enough to be broken into smaller pieces so as to last longer.
Then I got 3 odor free 12" and all natural Bully sticks which I haven't tried with him yet.

It's amazing how much less I paid for all this stuff than things you buy at a pet store. Plus, I hate the fact that pet store treats have other by products in them that may have come from anywhere in the world. I especially want to know if any miniscule substance comes from China! Or, of they contain the preservative Erythritol. Believe it or not, many of what we call our holistic foods contain Erythritol. I found this out by calling Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul. What they said was they had STOPPED using it! Ummm........so they DID use it at one time? Disappointing!

Also, I believe Solid Gold provides good stuff, but it is soooo expensive! Around $13.00 for a bag of treats!

I gave Bogart's other treats to a friend. They are not as selective....but I gave it to them with warning to toss anything they might believe isn't quality enough for them.

I have made many changes with Bogart as my knowledge has increased since I had my other dogs. My Bouvier had sudden organ failure, my Weimaraner/Lab died of bloat and my Springer Spaniel died of Lymphoma. Each dog broke my heart into tiny pieces.
I have stopped any fertilizers on the lawn.....no bug sprays allowed indoors or outdoors and I have ARACHNOPHOBIA beyond words!
On walks, if he little flags are up showing a neighbor has their lawn fertilized, I walk in the street until I pass the house.

I don't want to sound paranoid. But, Bogart is MY Service Dog....and he has 4 jobs altogether where he helps others. I not only LOVE this dog, but have put thousands of dollars into him.

I fully believe that we feed our dogs junk food and don't even know it. In the long run, it can effect their lives.
