Hi im new here but have a question.
I have a 1.5 year old labradoodle standard size male. He seems to be scared of weird noises. Never barks unless wants something and even at dog parks never seems to protect himself. Just wondering when he will become more protective and less fearful. thanks |

My male is similar, he is 8 months, almost 9, when I walk him, he is literally afraid of his own reflection in the glass bus shelter. I assume that what freaks him out is that he can see through the glass at a certain angle, then all of a sudden another dog appears out of no where!
Dog parks he plays, but doesnt seem to be able to tell when the other dogs give him warning signs to bugger off. What do you mean by not protecting himself? Winston use to be afraid of everything, but he has got better with more and more repetition. He still scares himself when he bangs in to something and it makes a noise. Sorry, in short, I guess I am wondering the exact same stuff as you! |

he still does..Toby won t play with dogs he knows he can t out run..
he knows when another dog..especially a bigger one does nt want to play..the little guys he ll just bug.. never had problems of him being afraid..other than being corner d by our neighbors boston terrier..he cowered for a moment and when the opening appear d, he was off running.. Toby did nt have problems with strange sounds..when there was a sound we d go together to explore the source..dogs come in contact constantly with strange sounds and experiences..it was important that he knew that i as the pack leader be there to protect him..
