Default starting to shed

Hello all. Oliver is 18 months old now. I've never noticed him throwing his puppy coat, but now he seems to be shedding. When I give him hugs or he rubs up on furniture there are little hairs left behind. I've read on a few sites that labradoodles seem to not shed when they are puppies but once their adult coats come in they start to shed. His mother is an F1B labradoodle and his father is a standard poodle. Anyone else go through this or have any advice?

Thank
Crissy

hi crissy..Toby blew his puppy coat around 8mos old..and did nt completely stop till 2 mos later..

now there are some who ll say this is normal..which made me relax..now there s other s who ll blow their puppy coats earlier..and sometimes later..

there are some things out there..suppliments or coat conditioners that are said to control shedding..now these things might or might not work..and if they do work for your doodle..it may better to allow your dog to complete
the blowing of his puppy coat naturally..

enviormental, diet or health could all have an affect on a dogs coat..if this shedding just started, give it a few weeks..if the coats condition does nt improve it would be a good idea to check with your vet for further advise and perhaps some testing..

If Oliver is 18mths old, his puppy coat is already gone

I would suggest a higher quality food and supplements
you can check out and compare your food with the food i feed, my dogs are doing great on it, even my shedding goldens shed less,, due to the ingrediants of this food,
Watch this video >> http://healthypets.ws/ms/view?page=pet-food-comparison

The dog food comparison chart is here >>http://www.lifesabundance.com/Products/ProductList.aspx?realname=20058012&cat=0&hdr=&Ath= False&category=Dog_Food(Pet_Base)

my als shed as a puppy and he sheds now. Black hair/fur everywhere. I love my dog who is now one but I hate the shedding. Only daily brushing can reduce it. Nothing can stop it.

F1's WILL shed a bit but nothing compared to other breeds.
Nancy is right...the puppy coat in an 18month old is gone by now. Some F1's may just shed a tad more.
The other day, I really learned to appreciate Bogart's limited shedding. Our neighbor brought over her Golden Retriever..........HAIR EVERYWHERE!! UGH!

There are many ways to take care of this. When their eyes are milky, they are in the beginning stages of shedding. Leave her alone until her eyes are not milky anymore.

Default Hey!

Don't worry about the shedding. I think that's normal to every pup or dog. My Muning undergoes to the same process too and it lasted for almost 2-3months? I can't remember the exact range.
Anyway, just a piece of advice; don't worry about the shedding, worry bout how to keep your surroundings clean. Pet's fur may cause allergies and itch to some children.
