After reading a thread here on Pet food, someone mentioned that Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul contained ethoxyquin in their by-products.
This alarmed me as this is what we feed Bogart, so I emailed them and got this response. Dear Linda: Thank you for your inquiry. I appreciate you contacting us directly. We began our shelf life testing using mixed tocopherols as the beginning of the year. After completing the studies and being satisfied with the results, we made a transition in May. Now we, and our suppliers, use only mixed tocopherols (vitamin E) to preserve , not ethoxyquin. Nice to know that they finally caved under the pressure!!
I believe that this change of using only mixed tocopherols (vitamin E) to preserve , not ethoxyquin, also applies to Canidae & Taste of the Wild too.... |
