Default Re: Alphabie

doodles calming down, each one is different according to the parents used for breedign and then according to your doodles temperament

OURS are lazy compared to what i hear about doodles hahaa but then again max is going to be 4yrs old and peanut 3.5yrs old.

LETTING your doodle have a good run, tossing a ball or throwing a frisbee low to ground are great ways to wear out a doodle.
they say a tired doodle is a good doodle

Peanut settled down at a year old .........Max my labradoodle took a little longer mabye 2yrs old

some people that have f1b or higher generations say they're dog is puppyish a bit longer......mine are f1's so i don't know

exercising them however can aid in calming them down, also playing games even one where you break up a treat and hide it
around the kitchen etc and let them find it......DOODLES are very intelligent and need both exercise and stimulation

Hi, I can't help you too much except to give you my 2¢ that the difference is ALL ABOUT bloodlines and the temperment of the parents your puppy come from IN ADDITION to the nature in which they were socialized by your breeder.

We get comments ALL THE TIME about how calm and loving our puppies are and I have deliberately stayed away from hunting/retrieving bloodlines for the sake of calmer Doodle babies. You can read/talk to some of our clients on this site about our puppies.

Mostly we breed F1b's and f3's by the way...and my experience is that it's the Labrador/Golden Retriever part that is a higher energy breed or part of the dog, as Poodles do not need, typically, the exercising that Retrievers do. Poodles are considered "non-working" dogs and can live happily in apartments or condos, and one of of my intact male breeding dogs lived in a 2BR condo with his guardian and NEVER destroyed anything, marked anything, but his guardian was just very faithful to take him out to run and hike when she did.

Hope that helps!

My Laby is also Hyper. What if it is the other way around? What if your doodle is not active is there any supplements that can make your doodle more active? Thank you in advanced.
