most people don t know what a *desinger* dog is..

people were asking what it meant today at a memory lost center..*they ll ask again next week*
most people in attendance thought it a term associated with Paris Hilton

lets remember and a few should remind Wally he did a great service by *DESIGNING* a wonderful
creature to provide for that need..A dog that exceeds the sum of its parents..

I guess I was insensitive to the elderly........but Wally sure seems to be of sound mind to me. But, then again, I'm just reading his comments and not present to hear and see where he is at 81.

But you know what he should be Proud
this is a legacy
This breed is awesome!! and what is being done with them ,therapy ,service ect
anyone would be proud ,,I know i would

Its just sad that this is going all over the web and few positive posts regarding doodles

If i post it wouldnt do any good im a breeder, could be taken as underleing reasons,,
needs to be owners, or admires,, someone needs to speakup and put them in their place
especially bout
ALL Dog breeds mixed to create a breed for a specific purpose,, that normally throw a wrench in there
its just stupid,, they are stupid

I agree......and I also said he should be PROUD!
I wonder how many people will read this on the web. But, if they do, I don't see how Wally really gives a reason at all!
It seems he's afraid of overbreeding.
I am glad the President didn't get a Labradoodle. That would have hurt us all........because everyone would then want one!
Right now, except for puppy mills and BYB........things seem to be under control and the Labradoodle simply ROCKS!
THANK YOU WALLY!!

ohh wow you got that right,, one of my clients that just picked up her puppy commented on that yesterday
she has a pwd ,, and she said its already gotten outta hand, that prices have doubled since he got one
the sad truth,,, that is probably the worse breed it could have even happen to, they already have health issues due to small breeding pool,, and inbreeding ,linebreeding ect,, they dont live long due to that fact,, cancer runs rampid in that breed,,
I feel sorry for those reputable breeders of that breed ,, right now they are benifiting but the breed wont

lets remember too that ALL DOGS could have been refered to as DESIGNER..

MAN had needs throughout time..when those needs arose and no dog was
present to meet those needs..cross breeding was done to assure that those
chores be met..

it was nt till the early 1900 s that standards were set for each breed..and from
that point on much of the usefulness of the dog was bred out for apperance sake

I was fortunate enough to not have people hit me with this "designer dog" and "so, he's a mutt"......thingie until of recent.
I was surprised at how irritated I got when it finally happened to me. So, I calmly looked at one guy and said, "Yep, he's a mutt. Just like all dogs were at one time and he IS a breed in Australia BUT we don't want him to be a breed HERE!"

Now it seems that when I can tell someone is going to say something..........I say, "Ohe yeah, I know. He's just a mutt and an expensive well bred one at that!"
SHEEEEESH! How aggravating people can be! I wouldn't have th nerve to knock someone's dog!

Nancy, I wasn't aware of the situation with the PWD. It's really sad that this happened to the breed via the president.
They, then, have now become in demand as I thought, but I didn't know of their health background. Sad story and sooooooo dumb that people want what Obama has.
UGH

Bwaahaaa Linda Love your reply

Actually the PWD were in trouble before the President got one,,
its just exasperating the problem in the breed after he got one

the problem the gene pool is pretty small,,
they have alot of cancers in the breed
Now everyone is breeding them chargin upwards of 2500
and as we have seen in the Doodles, breeders coming outta the wood work ,, its a quick buck
sad

But the thing is that most dog breeds today isn't a mix of several breeds because they didn't have diffrent breeds, just dogs of different types, until the 1800's or something. So how could there be crossbreeding when there was no dog breeds

This is the most often used reply whenever I asked that same question: "isn't all dog breeds a ressult of crossbreeding"?

Well it doesn't matter to me what tey are called or what it is used for, just that the dog are healthy and satisfied with the lifestyle they have.

The breeding of all animals is egoistic, it dosn't matter from what side you look at it. So if you have your dog as a pet or as a hunting, police or guarding dog, it's still not in that animals interest if it doesn't feel good.

So this whole purebred discussion is for me only pointed towards the people that breed dogs mixed in every direction and whithout bothering to find good homes or doing tests, but just for the sake of getting more money.

Of course there are several breeds that were created by different breeds,
they take certain breeds with certain charateristics to create what is desired,,

Research different breeds you will that they is the truth,,
Breeds have been created throughout the years, and then when they are consisitant in characteristics for a number of generations ,, AKC gets their greedy little hands on it,,

and unfortunatly there are more AKC breeders that are puppy mills then there are Doodle Breeders
