I'm new to Labradoodles and I have a great one. He has smarts and personality. What more could people want in a dog? I don't understand the bashing of them at all.
Mine was one I found free on Craigslist as the owners had lost income and couldn't afford to keep him. After owning a Labradoodle, I would certainly pay $1800 or more from a proper breeder if I have the financial means to do so. It doesn't take much research to find a proper breeder vs. a puppy mill either. My other dog is a true mutt bred for no other purpose than farmers not believing in spaying and neutering their dogs. He's a good dog, but very overprotective and he downright scares some people. I would not own him if I had young children. I've had Poodles and Labs that were pure bred. Great dogs too, but they did lack the vigor and intelligence combination of my Labradoodle. People bashing Labradoodles I've found to either lack common sense about dog breeds or they are the snooty types that don't realize that they're pure bred dog is the result of the same ideas that created Labradoodles. |

I recently tried to stick up for the LD breed on a Forum, the thread on "allergenic dogs". Yikes! Those people are mean!
One gal said...."Established breeds that are recognized by the AKC are different. There is no such thing as a reputable breeder of labradoodles. Only champion dogs should be bred." Then someone posted the same article as Nancy.... I posted another that said...""I don't regret the dog, not for the purpose I bred it for," Wally Conron tells Paw Nation, "I regret all the people who got on the bandwagon willy-nilly. People who are breeding poodle crosses for the money, who have no concern for parentage." Labradoodle Creator Has Massive Regrets Over the Craze He Started - Paw Nation It was tough...almost wished that I had kept my mouth shut, but I get tied of this! From the profile pic, it looks like I had a few doodle owners helping me make my point. Last post I couldn't help myself... "So, my Doodle has 32 champions in her 6 generation pedigree, does that make her at least a "High Class" mutt? Sheesh...... |

i have no problem when confronted with the *mutt, designer dog* remarks..actually i look forward to helping the critic insert his/her foot
in their mouth.. those remarks have ignorance written all over them..if they would have just spent a few moments with Google..they might have something intelligent to talk about.. Mutt=unknown herritage Hybrid=known ..resulting in a dog exceeding the sum of the two.. Designer Dog??..SO WHAT!!?? |
