Incredible. Absolutely great looking faces. What is the first pup's colour? Sable-parti? What gerneration are they? Is the second one phantom? Is there a mini poodle in the background for that? Can you tell I am impressed? Wow. Are you getting more than normal interest from customers? I have heard that parti/unusual colours are still more popular with breeders than customers, or the public hasnt yet caught on that they are even options.

Hi, and thanks!
I do get more interest from breeders than customers on this litter, but last litter it was my partis that sold quicker for pets than the solids. ::::Shrug::::: These puppies are f3 - no black, in either parent, yet there is a sable-type look to Zoe, isn't there? She's got the coolest face/head to me! But Dotty has a silky, luxurious body for sure. Wish it showed in pictures! Kia is a chocolate phantom. Treat, and Ditto (looks JUST like Cookie did), and maybe Zoe all have a mix of Phantom AND parti in their markings, down to the triangular patch on their butts. Kia is a straight phantom. I would not know unless bred if Kia carries for parti or not. But since Cookie is a phantom and tuxedo, they ALL have the phantom gene - even the solids. thanks for looking! |

Oh! Maureen!!! They are to die for! OMG! Absolutely lovely pups, all of them!
You know, when I got Gracie, she had sable...the tips of her brown were black for the longest time...Then she played in the mud so much it is hard to tell her true color...plus I shaved her down yesterday...so funny, she thinks that her tail is now the most interesting of things... Anyway, I think that Cookie probably carries sable...obviously she carries a LOT of goodies...Swany too! Very exciting! I adore little Zoe...her coloring is part of it but her expression is so charming.... I would say that Kia does carry parti...and may well be parti...her dark brown against the light carmel...while it is phantom markings it seems to be very dominant (the carmel)...what are her foot pads like? Different colors? If so, I have been told that is proof of carrying pati! I am thrilled for you...they are simply gorgeous! Thanks for posting! |

THANKS, Judi!!
Gosh I think it would be tempting to sell a boy like Bo or Treat to a breeder, if I could have a bit of breeding reserved. TREAT is a gorgeous red white parti, with his liver nose. Guess that makes him Caramel, thus his name. |

You know Maureen......now that you are getting into those uncommon colors, now you have to get that last color in..... Brindle.
If it breeds like the mini-pins (yup! mini-pins come in Brindle!), only one parent has to have Brindle to produce in the litter. Isn't this Brindle parti beautiful? These fancy parti's are a lot of work, but you are there!! Congrats!! ![]() There was a poodle breeder that had some breath taking ones (poodles), but i can't find her link. Edit: you can google for breeders if you are interested. |

As for finding Brindle poodles, hang on....I co-own a Miniature Poodle with a Poodle breeder who has a GORGEOUS Brindle Poodle girl! Our current puppies come from a red/wh sable parti Grandma, so that's how we get the sable look on Zoe - but It would surprise me if Cookie carried brindle, it's true. but who knows?? When my friend posts a picture of her beautiful brindle girl I'll keep you posted! |

Am I correct in understanding that brindle is a dominant gene? Only one parent needs to have it. Does it only express in white-yellow-cream dogs and is hidden in brown-black? Hmmmm.

I have bred Mini pins for many years Todd. I never heard of them being Brindle, but I met a breeder that has one that was passed on to her by a retiring breeder. She has bred the dog twice to a dog with mainly red lines & it has resulted in 3 of 4 pups being brindle...
![]() So if the gene works the same in other breeds, I'd say yes... Here is some explanation of the color... too much for my brain to grasp at the moment! http://bowlingsite.mcf.com/GENETICS/ColorGen.html |
