Default Boone and Jin together *pics*!!!

Ok so here are the boys!!
Here is the first day with Jin, right after we picked him up from the shelter we took the boys to the dog park!

More pics...heeling on leash down the hill to the park entrance (very hard btw with the excitement that awaits, such good boys!)

Lounging together after their first day together...I think they got up and fought for an hour right after I took this!

This was is from today....the boys watching daddy eat a grilled cheese...notice Beck in the corner, a german pinscher we are doggysitting for the day..it's a mad house here today. It's raining out, so I'm following them all around with a wet swiffer, mud everywhere.

He has fit in very well...I'm still on edge all the time tho, making whure that they are actually playing and not fighting, and making sure Jin doesn't bug Boone too much.

Also Jin doesn't seem to be totally housetrained, althought today is only his second full day, and I guess we can't really expect him to know where the door is, or how to signal us just yet. So we'll keep working on it, and hope Boone shows him the ropes on that issue for us.

He cried in his crate last night for a tiny bit, but settled down and slept well for us the rest of the night. We will eventually move Boone's crate out of our bedroom and into the spare room with Jin, when they are more used to each other.

How do I recognize an actual fight, from playing?

When you hear an actual fight, you will know the difference. The tone changes drastically, and you can tell then that it is no longer playing. Mine are always playing, and bangin eachother around. The few times I have had heard actual fights, I knew immediately, as you will too.. Believe me, you can tell.

Jin will take a little time to know where the door is, and Boone will help with that. star was housebroken, but did not know where she was supposed to go to go outside. A couple of days, and she knew exactly where to go. A little bit of time and Jin will be adjusted to your routine, and fit in nicely!

Wow, Tina, great looking dogs!

I agree with Shannon...you will know a real fight when it happens, and most likely you will not be able to do much (don't try because you could get really hurt...other than using a loud noise or voice to distract them.)

When they play, it appears very much like fighting. When it gets serious, one of the dogs will usually roll over onto its back to become submissive. This is great dog interaction.

At their age, you may find that they have to duke it out once in a while to identify the top dog, but again that is very natural and as long as they don't get too mean, just let it happen...and if it gets scary, distract and separate them without much reaction if possible.
