Poor dog! Hope this does not happen to my Laby's pups. Is Cesarian section a good way to prevent this?

Todd when we have a "slow to start" puppy , before the swing, we bulb suction the teeny weeny nostrils, then bulb suction back of throat, rubbing their back, pinching their toes, then if all else fails will swing, supporting the head and body. It doesnt have to be that forcful..also will stick a pin in to the skin where the nose meets the mouth.sounds wierd but i read somewhere this is very useful and it has turned around some of our pups. The swinging method has worked also in many instances, and so far no problems reported.

I used a small rubber bulb suction to the nostrils and in the mouth and throat and with the bitches cleaning and my towling as massage every pup survived. We got a few that was alittle blue but with the massage the came around fine.

In my breeders handbook it says to not give up in 30 min and as a last thing to try swinging. You have to do it gentley and with support of the head so it doesn't create a concussion.

I think it's fun that people want to try having puppies but if you are not sure of what to do in a crisis maybe those people should wait until they read up on the stuff beforehand, it's really toolate after the dog is expecting.
