The FDA warned that contaminated pet food could also infect people if they handled the dog treats and have not thoroughly cleaned their hands.

The Merrick Beef Filet Squares were packaged in a 10-ounce green, red and tan resealable plastic bag. They are labeled "best by 111911

Thanks for posting, AM. I knew about this recall...but it is pretty common for ANY dog treat to cause salmonella to humans if they are not careful in how they handle them...please, ALWAYS wash your hands after handling dog food and treats...always!

i should have figured as you stay on top of this all the time JaC

i don't buy any dog treats as MAX n Peanut only get human treats mostly fruits or cheese and only in tiny amounts
but i wanted to post this just in case others weren't aware.

I even keep washing my hands continuously when i just prepare dinner as a safeguard.

What are the symptoms if ever your dog ate Salmonella infected food? I just want to be aware of this disease.
