Max was on NUTRO as a puppy and i don't know if you remember all the troubles we had with him and all his tests coming up negative to
disease/illlness and his digetstive system was shot for 4mos after that

I would rather hunt and kill food for my dogs rather than EVER consider NUTRO as a dogfood again

I wanted to thank you for posting this. I had a Golden Retriever who had been on Nutro for years. In the last couple months (Feb-Mar) he started vomiting bile BEFORE he ate. I took him to the vet & they did lots of tests & assumed it was his weak stomach (he's been on aspirin daily for years--well, off & on) & he's been known for his sensitive stomach.
On April 17th, my teenager found our Chance already gone on right by the back door. I found your notice sometime later & sent it to my vet & he had heard abo9ut it the week after Chance passed away.
I went to the pet store where I ALWAYS bought his food, & called the Nutro rep & he was VERY nasty to me, threatening to sue me for slander & I told him to go for it. I also called Nutro's main number (over 50 times), have written (5 times & sent it certified 4 of them)& no one has ever responded to me.
When I got his last bag of food--the biggest bag, i noticed the kibble was a different color than was in my can & I assumed it was ME who let the food we had at home go stale......so I dumped that all in the garbage & fed him from the new bag, he died 3 days later. He had NO other symptoms, except the vomiting (& later when I cleaned the year, I seen he had diarrhea & constipated poop in the yard---we only clean the yard weekly).
Our new Doodle will be here July 7th & she will never be on that & our local pet store did pull ALL Nutro from their shelves. My new pup will be on Blue Buffalo. Sorry this was SOOOOO long!

I do not think anyone is safe until the FDA gets more involved, i am trying to find someone that i more puter savy then i am to write a petition to get them more involved with the way pet foods are manufactured and what they add etc

here is one link Here's a list of more foods to check complaints.

Looks like Candidae changed their formulation very recently and lots of folks are having trouble.

I just made a page with info from the Whole Dog Journal > http://www.doodleville.net/Dog-Food-Updates.html

Jenny, first I want to say how sorry I am that you lost your beloved Chance....and second, I'd like to welcome you to the forum... thank you for relaying your story about Nutro, and I hope anyone who feeds this to their dogs will take them off immediately...Nancy has provided you with a great link on the foods...
Thirdly, I want to let you know that even tho your heart is broken by Chances death, it will be healed by your new little girl...
I hope you continue to keep us uptodate with her homecoming, progress and silly stories of things she does, because there will be lots of them..oh yes, and pictures too...we just love pictures here!!! ((((((((Big hugs to all of you!!!)))))))))
