sure is..pretty soon the only food we will be able to safely feed our dogs is home cooked! I am really surprised about cloud star, I buy their treats & the package clearly states all ingredients are from the US and the product is manufactured in the US- this if from their website:
"We are proud to say that Cloud Star products are now sold throughout the USA, Canada and overseas. It’s hard to believe that this all started in a small home office with Buddy Biscuits Bake-at-Home Dog Treats. All the while, Cloud Star has remained true to our original ideals by continuing to use human food grade ingredients, being good environmental stewards, and producing all of our treats right here in the USA with USA-sourced and supplied ingredients!"

you all by now must know w/MAX we tried so many different dog foods and PURINA (yes i said PURINA) is the only one he can tolerate
and is healthy on: bright eyes, white teeth, shiny black coat, high energy , he has solid poops, does NOT chew his paws, no ear infections, etc. YES MAX is my junk food junkie doodle----that ALSO gets a bit of homemade food. if he's healthy on it so be it in past we tried:we tried blue buffalo, nutro Max, Innova, Evo, Merrick, newmans own, merrick, Canidae, Calif natural, Taste of the Wild, Wellness and i forgot the couple others NOTE: canidae did well till a year later...all others they got bad diarrhea and/or would chew their paws excessively on calif natural we found HIGH PROTEIN FILLERS are NO NO as is lamb soooooooo while i wish i could feed one of those foods to Max (except the nutro) Purina is the only one he does good on...go figure!! PEANUT IS on 100% homemade food with raw hamburger several days a week till we figure out what possible allergy she has that affects her nose/eyes that finally is slowing improving , baffled vets and no meds worked to-date.

I've tried it all too...including Purina and, frankly, my dogs loved Purina and were healthy on it. The reason I stopped feeding it was that even though it was cheaper, they had to eat a LOT more to get full and it ended up costing the same as the higher end brands...plus they had really bad (and stinky) gas!
Seriously...when my company grows and we can afford it, I will hire a cook for my dogs! Someone will be hired to fix healthy meals for them. I don't have the time because it would be a daily job, just cooking 2 meals for them all. *sigh* When I can afford a freezer for my food, I am signed up as a distributor for a raw diet food...and I could feed that for about the same as kibble...but they REQUIRE proof of a freezer before they allow delivery. |

Distributor physical requirements.- All you need to get started is a freezer that has the holding capacity for the amount of food you intend to order. A good rule of thumb is that a 23- cu/ft freezer will hold 800 pounds of product. This size freezer will be required to start at the level 1 stage. It will take two of these freezers to operate at the level 2- stage. If you have a cold storage facility close by then many distributors can utilize this facility instead of buying the second freezer. We can help to work out the details for this decision. A delivery vehicle is also needed especially if you intend to set up a regular delivery route. There is usually no need to buy a refrigerated vehicle. We can show you how to use a regular pickup or SUV to make the deliveries. |
