Wow, very unusual! Looks like she has eye makeup on (and that she stuck her cute little nose in some coal! hahahaha)
Oh, she is a cute one! Are the colors black, white and red??? Or is that more of a brown? I'd say brindle...but I am no expert at all on brindles or phantoms... I do know cute! |

Remember this link........these were sables. I think that she is a sable too. Sure is a little doll!
I used to have 2 of them myself......a red-apricot male and a mahogany brown female. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5219&p=165646#p165646 |

Okay, this has me researching colors again! LOL
I found a very interesting site...interesting in the fact that they give very good descriptions AND pictures! I learned a lot about blue dogs and realized that my Nitos is an excellent (perfect, in fact) blue! (Judi, I also found out that true black pups are generally identified by the bluish tint to the skin!) Interesting, too, because of the age of the information...much of it is before DNA was around to identify colors and what I found really fascinating is the realization that DNA can only do so much...it is very limited...and so the years of experience in this web page I found to be very enlightening. Here is the link to brindles and sables: http://arpeggiopoodles.tripod.com/poodl ... sable.html Basically, they say that if the hair itself has two colors, then it is a sable (or reverse sable) but if it is the same color all the way through, it is a brindle... I found the entire web page to be very interesting...and I actually did learn a lot! (They say that blue dogs carry all colors...and that many of the parti dogs come from blues! I think I'd better find the right girl for my handsome Nitos!) |

It is so interesting to me and this site, coming from long term Poodle breeders was very informative to me...altough we add the Lab or Aussie or Golden genetics into the mix, this was great info for me.
