Hello all... I have just purchased my first labradoodle... She is a beautiful cream f1b
Her name is Cheyenne... My question is if I decide to breed her (and Im not sure yet as I am usually only breeding my yorkies) well she is standard sized so my question is what color do I breed to so that I will get more cream/gold and choc labradoodles and what do I breed to?? lab, poodle, f1, f1b?? and if you breed a parti-colored boy to your solid girl do you get parti-babies?? or parti-factored?? I am wanting to learn everything I can to decide if I want to get into this too or just keep my little Cheyenne as a family pet... If I do breed her I only want to better the breed so I would love to know everything I can find out so all info would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

Welcome !
Wow, what a sweet baby. Not a breeder here so can't answer questions but we do have some breeders here and I'm sure they will be along to answer questions for you. Keep us posted with pics of Cheyennes growth and adventures |

You are not required to regester you labradoodle with the ALAA (Australian Labradoodle Association of America) but they do have good recomendations for health testing prior to breeding.
http://www.ilainc.com/HealthTesting.html In addition, a lot of doodle breeders use a DNA test kit called Pawsitive ID to test for 20 or so genetic disorders. http://www.ingen.bs/ This kit tells you coat colour as well, so you will know if your girl carries brown or black in addition to cream. Hope this is a good start for your research, and WELCOME!! (should have said that first). Depending on how curly your girls coat develops you can breed her to an F1 (if she is very curly and you want to have less coat) or and F1b, or a labradoodle. Labradoodle x goldendoodles are called North American Retrievers, and Jac (and someone else maybe, mind is slow on a friday) has done this breeding with excellent results. |

That was new... hmmm Thank you again... I will be checking those out tonight after I put the kids to bed so I can concentrate lol...

Hi and welcome!!! Maya is a NAR....you can see her pic in my avatar. She was one of two out a litter of 11 that had the flatter coat look. I don't breed but please make sure you have breeding rights for your girl before you get your heart set on breeding her.
