I am certain someone will be able to help me on this.
How long has the labradoodle been about ? Is it a breed or what class does it come into? Please please dont say 4 legs and it barks hee hee. I am trying hard to learn more about this lovely breed. Any help would be a bonus thanks Caroline |

You will get many answers to this, since there are different types of labradoodles, and different parent clubs that are "in charge" of its recongition. Try

Here is what wikapedia says, and its a good short answer: "The Labradoodle was first deliberately bred in 1989, when Australian breeder Wally Conron first crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle for Guide Dogs Victoria. His aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a Guide Dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Guide Dogs Victoria continue to breed Labradoodles today and Labradoodles are now often used around the world as Guide, Assistance, and Therapy Dogs as well as being popular family dogs." |
