to jac and all the other poster's on this thread - what a beautiful way to start my Valentine's morning - to read how this special breed has touched each of you and me as well - I love my doodle too - despite all his puppy shenanigans - maybe because of them - for reasons I can't put my finger on - because he's here and looks at me like "oh Hi Mom, wanna kiss??? - here ya go!!!" As I prepare to become an empty nester - One gone - one in another year - I think this special dog will ease my pain of being an out grown Mom - he has already!! - So Happy Valentine's Day to all you Lovable, Kissable, Huggable doods and your precious Humans!!!!
Love, Tam & Hamish

Another reason I love my Doodle
It's 2:30 am, I'm sitting on the edge of bed using laptop which is on a bedside table, Annabelle has been asleep on the bed behind me for a few hours, she just woke up, came over gave me a big kiss and laid her head on my shoulder - does it get any better, Nope !

These were all so wonderful to read.......
I love my doodle because I think he is the sweetest, most affectionate dog I have ever had. He is Mr. Personality -- mischevious and goofy...that face and those eyes!! He is my constant cuddle companion and just wants to be near his people. I truly believe that he returns my love. I never get tired of looking into his sweet little face and telling him how much I love him. Sometimes I feel like a nut and it is so hard to describe to people who don't have a doodle the intensity of love my husband and I feel towards this crazy dog.....I am so grateful he is part of my family. I trust him with children of all shapes and sizes -- I have never heard him growl or act anything other than over the top friendly/happy to be along for the ride. He loves all people and animals - including my son's hedge hog.....he is scared of toads - loves to eat spiders (along with other things such as socks, scrunchies, q-tips, etc.) and is just a big hairy love bug. He is so smart, loyal and eager to please AND he doesn't shed much which keeps my OCD husband very happy. I will never be without a doodle and he will always be my first dog of choice. I recommend them to everyone!

I'm new to this forum, and new to owning a labradoodle. My fiance and I didn't get Tehya from a store or a breeder, we got her from a local family who didn't want to keep her, but wanted to find someone really good to take her. I ask myself constantly how the could have possibly let this bundle of love go, because she is the sweetest dog I have ever met, and I love her to bits. The best things are:
- My fiance coming home from a terrible day at work, only to have his face light up to see Tehya wagging her tail, no, her BODY at his arrival. - Getting kisses, cuddles and hugs whenever we want from our 'baby' - Having a dog who can get along with every other dog, including the grumpy ones - that she's better trained at 9 months old than my friend's two year old and older dogs - that she loves us as much back! She's so sweet that my mom calls her 'grandpuppy' and she fights with my friends over who gets to take care of her when I'm away, even if its just an hour! Pretty much, getting Tehya was the luckiest, and smartest, thing we've ever done. (I'm biased, I know - but you guys all seem to 'get it') -Kallie (Tehya's Mom!) [Picture from the day she got spayed - funniest cone-dog ever] |

Welcome to the site Kallie. I came to live with our Black F1 Gus in a similar manner to you, a rehome from a family that no longer wanted him. I also wonder how they could not love such a cuddley lovable guy like him, but thier loss is our gain. I love Tehyas colouring, I would love it if Gus silvered out over his whole body, but he just did on his muzzle and a bit on his legs.

Eileen, thats great news that you get to bring Montanna home!!! You must be so excited to get to live full time with your doodle. I am sure you will have more stories to share. And yes they are very intuitive, Hershey knows just the right time to give me kiss and a cuddle when I really need it.

Oh, so true! And, yes...the "human" soul in their thoughtful eyes...amazing! Welcome Kallie and Tehya! You certainly do recognize a great dog when you meet one...Doodles are the BEST!! Eileen! So great to see you posting sometimes...I know it is so hard for you. Dave is delivering a pup to Laurie today...I wish I could go, but I think that Dave will enjoy seeing Montana and I am so happy that another pup will be there...actually this is a half brother to Montana so I think that they will know that...and have lots of fun when they are given their play time! Todd, I didn't know that is how you got Gus! Cool! |
