Yikes! Thanks for the heads up Jac. Fortunately we're not using that brand, but it feels like playing Russian Roulette by feeding commercial food.

It does, doesn't it? Scary!
Meg, I have to laugh every time I see sweet Cali in your new avatar! Too funny! Ilet my tiny pups play with bottle rings and they carry them around like Cali has her toy...in their mouths. looped up around their noses...so Cali's pose is just so adorable to me! |

Hence the reason for Abby being fed people food! After reading Lonsdale's books there's no way I'd go back to Mckibble.

TWO SUMMERS AGO WE FED OUR PUPS THIS FOOD, AND THEY STARTED COMING DOWN WITH DIARRHEA, IMAGINE HAVING 4 WEEK OLD PUPS ALL HAVING DIARHEA..
WE DO PUT DOWN CANNADEA FOR THEM TO MUNCH ON , AT ALL TIMES THEY HAVE IT TO THEIR DISPOSAL, IN A SELF FEEDER, BUT PREFER TO GOBBLE UP THE GOOD STUFF I COOK FOR THEM EACH MORNING & EVENING... IF I SEE A GOOD ROAST ON SALE AT THE MARKET FOR SAY 1.99 LB/ I HAVE THE DUDE BEHIND THE COUNTER GRIND IT FOR ME...THEN YOU HAVE NICE LEAN HAMBURG MEAT TO STEW UP WITH VEGIES AND BROWN RICE. I THEN WILL ADD AN EGG, AND SOME CRUSHED FLAX SEED , ABOUT A TBLSPN FOR A 50 LB DOG AND SOME CRUSHED EGG SHELLS 1 TSP PROVIDES 1000 MG... A 50 LB DOG NEEDS ABOUT 2 TSP'S DLY. THE EGG PROVIDES A TON OF NICE MINERALS AND VITAMINS , EGG SHELLS , PROVIDES CALCIUM, AND FLAX SEED, PROVIDES OMEGA FATTY ACIDS...SO FAR NICE SOLID POOPS , THRIVING DOGS, SHINY COATS, & MOST IMPORTANT HEALTH... |

Thanks Martha....I appreciate your input. I think that we all need to continually keep an eye on the dog food industry and make sure that we know what is happening or...and better...home cook the food!
