Great article. With that being said, we use one of these for our dog and have had great success with it. I will say that we watched the training video that came with the system and took our time (a month) training our dog. We have had no problems or horror stories. I will also add that we NEVER leave our dog in the yard with his collar on with no one home AND we are almost always outside working in the yard, hanging out with the neighbors, etc. while he is outside with his collar on........so he spends little to no time outside on his own. I think that if owners are responsible and follow the instructions provided it can be a great fence. We live on 2/3 of an acre in a neighborhood that has very strict fencing regulations. Without this fence, poor Charlie would have been stuck inside with his nose pressed against the glass forever -- not a happy doodle.
