Gene,
Isn't there a international organization that can share foster families from one state to another? I know that some rescue places for other breeds have set up what they call a "train" to get a dog to different states. What they do is have the journey broken up into parts and people offer to transport the dogs through their part of the country. It seems like there ought to be a coordination between fosters too. There seems to be people wanting to help but they are too far away. I can't foster because of money but would if I could even if letting them go to forever homes made me super sad (because of the examples I have seen here). But I want to help somehow and if ideas might make this issue any better I am full of those. I don't know how to carry those ideas through though. What I could do is be part of a train for a little distance if needed. Maybe it is a dumb idea but I do so want to help. Good luck Kathy |

Kathy, that is not a dumb idea! It is a great idea and certainly something that can be organized if someone wants to make a commitment to take the dog once it is rescued...or at least foster.

Kathy, actually when one of the IDOG folks asked me to post this, she talked about setting up a "train". IDOG is always looking for fosters and/or people to help transport dogs. If your ever interested, or know anyone who is....here's the website.
http://idog.biz/IDOGRRR.html you too have a huge heart and I am very happy to know you!! Keep those ideas coming!!!
