I don't know if this is appropriate, but I found this posted on the local Craigslist. The owners say they are moving out of the country.

Ozzie needs another sentry to watch out for those aliens

At the very least you could get information to the family about IDOG rescue. I would worry about who would be attracted to offerings on Craig's List.....
