UPDATE! Allie has a perfect forever home!
A wonderful lady came by to buy a puppy and fell in love with Allie...so she took them both! Allie loved the lady too...which is just about the best thing I can hope for! Plus, she will live nearby so I will get to see her sometimes. Allie's journey brought her home. Life is good. Jac About a year ago, I donated a special female pup to a family to be trained as a seizure alert dog for their young son. They neglected to get the special training, but did train her well with basic things. She is completely housebroken and sweet. The family says that everyone loves her and she loves all dogs and people that she meets. She does shed slightly (she resembles an F1 in appearance) and she is large...70 lbs! I own both of her parents and I know that she came from great stock. She is sensitive, loving, loyal, smart and she really deserves a good home. I have asked the family to ship her back to me (in California) if we can't find a great forever home near them (Nebraska). So, since we are shipping her, we could probably get her to just about any location...please, just be sure that you want to keep her. It breaks my heart that she is being displaced. The family told me that they don't have the time she needs for play and attention...someone near them said that they were told that she was just too big. Imagine, giving up a family member for that??! Anyone looking for an adult, trained, wonderful dog please get in touch with me. She is scheduled to come back to California in mid-September. ![]() |

JAC.......you know i'll be saying prayers that someone from this forum PM's you soon
and/or the right forever home contacts you to take this sweet baby into their hearts and home. I wish you lived closer cause as i know someone in need here of a trained service alert dog for their child. Unfortunately we're east coast and you are west coast will keep saying prayers though as i am hoping things happen for a reason and your doodle is waiting for the right family to live with permanently to helping someone out as well

Jaq, I am so mad at these people!! Glad they are sending her back to you but I just DON'T get it!! DH and I have been married 16 years. Waited til our kids were old enough then researched and found just the right dog. WHY???? Because this is a permanent relationship. How do you bring a pet into your home and not bond with it? What does that say about a person?
Or maybe they have extreme extenuating circumstances and really have no choice. In which case, I feel terrible for them and what they must be going through!! That would be a slice of hell. Either way, you are awesome. You and Nancy both got dogs back in the last while. It is a testament to both of you that you are wonderful, caring breeders.

Thank you everyone...Nancy, I didn't see your question earlier...from what the family tells me... "we just don't have the time and attention to give her..." and what they told a local who wanted her..."she is too big."
Either way...I have learned a huge lesson, unfortunately...anyone who wants a particular color, coat type or size can just go somewhere else for their doodle. Mine are sweet creatures, family, first...coats and sizes are not the important factor...if so, the person is not the right family for my puppies...even if they do have the matching coat/size! |

Oh, yes!! I keep warning my husband that although the parents were both under 50 pounds....there are no guarantees. I often joke that we will get the 100 pound great grandfather throwback gene!!
I don't care is she stays 25 pounds or gets to be 100. We love her already and she is here to stay no matter what.
