Default Is this dog a doodle

I am considering adopting a dog from a local rescue. He looks exactly like a F1 labradoodle but his hair is not really soft or silky. Do labradoodles ever have kind of wiry hair?

Thanks.

Do you have a picture on your computer?
Go to Photobucket.com and set up an "account" upload from your PC
Then when it is uploaded....Click on the IMG code and it will say it's copied.
Then paste it into one of these reply boxes from this thread you started.
You can hit Preview at the bottom of these reply boxes and see if it comes through.
Get it? If not, someone else may explain it better than I can....!

I just tried to pull photobucket up and it won't open for me...I was doing this earlier today, too. Maybe you will have better luck.

Yes, a labradoodle can have a wiry coat....mine has a fleece coat mostly, with wiry mixed in at certain spots....kind of goofy....

Here is a picture of chester. What do you think--is he a labradoodle? The rescue folks say he's an airdale or irish wolfhound mix

hmmmm hard to say.....does he shed less than usual? If so, that could be a sign he has some poodle in him

He looks EXACTLY like my foster dog. There was another family (cheesedoodle, I think?) that recently adopted a similar looking doodle.

FWIW, my vet also questioned whether or not he was a labradoodle but now that I've done more research, I've seen many who have this look.

Our foster dog's hair is not silky. It is definitely more wiry and he does shed.

Just curious, where do you live?

Default one final picture

I love the traits of labradoodles. I need to decide Sat. If he's not a doodle, even though he's really sweet, I think I would want to wait until I find one. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh20 ... ester4.jpg[/IMG].[IMG]

Does the rescue have any background on Chester? Do they actually know his parentage or are they just guessing?

Lucky, our foster dog, has an excellent temperament. He is a big chewer and has alot of energy. He loves playing with my dog, Charlie. He is sweet and loving, great with kids, very smart - a quick learner. He is nine months old. Does he sound like Chester?

You probably can't go wrong if he has the qualities you are looking for.
