Chester is adjusting well.He tilts his head when trying to figure things out in a really adorable way. He does use his paws alot. When he is excited he sits down and puts both paws up to "hold hands". He is confused on his house training. He goes to the front door and if we don't notice right away....he also goes upstairs to our sons' bedroom... and occasionally right in the middle of the living room floor. Hopefully he will adjust soon. He can be outside and come in and have an accident. Any advice?

give him time on the housetraining and sounds silly but don't let him out of your sight
perhaps give him a treat AFTER he goes outside or when you're going back into the house? and tons of praise too and CONGRATS !!!!! and here i put up a chair on staircase so i keep Beau on one level only of the house and i have been known to tether to me in the past

Totally agree Annmarie. Two most important parts to housetraining, limit area, be consistant.
Limit the area that he has access too until he is trained then you can gradually add new rooms. Tanner was trained but if he needed to go he would sneak into the living room as he didn't think of it as part of the house. I took him in there on a leash a few times and sat and read a book. He then got the idea that this was part of HIS area too. Never peed in there again. Take him out on a regular schedule, either on a leash or watch him to make sure he goes. If he doesn't go back in the house and take him out in 10 minutes again.....five minutes after eating, when he wakes from a nap, when he starts to sniff around. You can keep him with you on a tether. Are you using a crate or an Xpen. They don't like to soil their own area so that helps. I hung a treat bag high by the door that we took Tanner out of to go do his business. I would give him a treat each time he was successful...very motivating. Hang in there...he will get it
