6 Month Old Doodle

Chloe is a spayed CKC registered silver/black Labradoodle who turned 6 months old on November 2nd and is one of the most loving dogs I have ever met. I am going through a really difficult time having to consider giving her up but I also want to do what is best for her. I currently live in an apartment and now have been offered a job that would require relocation (and another small apartment). I will not give her up unless it is to the BEST home.

She is very energetic and loves other dogs. She tries to get Chase to play with her and he does on occasion indulge her in a few doodle 500's. She is housebroken and only has an accident when I am not paying attention to her signals. Chloe has had skin issues (eczema) but it appears that this is clearing up ( I currently give her fishoil capsules and weekly medicated baths). She is a counter surfer and does get very excited when meeting people which I do not consider bad habits, but some might. In general, she is just a very happy dog!

I think that she would be happiest in a home possibly with children to play with her and a big yard to run in. I do not feel that it is fair to her to keep her cooped up. She seems to have the sit command down pretty well and loves to "sit" in my lap...haha. She currently weighs 52 pounds and I am thinking she will mature around 70 pounds but of course I am not sure about that.

I want you all to know that I have really been struggling with this decision and it is not one that I have taken lightly. I LOVE animals with all of my heart but I realize that sometimes you have to do what is best for your pet as well as yourself. I feel that I would be selfish to only keep Chloe to save myself the heartache of letting go. I know that somewhere there is a family out there that is the perfect fit for her. I will not advertise her in local papers/websites other than this because I want her to go to loving home and I feel that anyone here could provide that.

I am asking $300 for her simply to cover a few vet bills such as her spaying, etc. However, if the right person comes along I will reconsider this.

I reach out to you all as a friend to help me find the best home for Chloe. We are located in the north Mississippi area (just south of Memphis, TN).

I just wanted you to know that I've seen your other threads about your decision, and my heart is breaking for you. You are truly doing the best and most unselfish thing for Chloe - and I know you will find a good home for her on this forum. I wish my circumstances were different and I could take her myself!

I am so sorry that you are having to make this choice. I just wanted to tell you that we got our Goldendoodle when he was 6 months old. The lady we got him from had gotten him while pregnant, and already had a 3 year old. That partnered with a hubby that worked out of town most of the time (he was actually only home 2 days in the month his son was born). She had too much on her plate. Not to mention she didn't have a fenced yard so she had to walk him for potties.

I got Barkley from her and I am so very happy that she was willing to let him go and find a new home. We have a huge yard for him to romp in.

I am thankful each day for their choice. For without that choice I would not have him in my home.

I also had to recently re-home my greyhound I had for 4+ years. She was not happy with my toddler and after a few snaps (not provoked) she got my daugher well enough to go to the ER. I miss her so much but she is so much happier in another home that does not have young kids.

I just hope my post helps you to know that sometimes we have to do things we may not want to do, but in the end it can be a good thing.
