Looking for a Doodle in NY

I am looking to adopt a labradoodle or goldendoodle near NYC. We are first time dog owners and would rather a dog that is already house trained. I've been reading a bunch of books on how to train a dog but I'm nervous about getting a puppy. I think a rescue dog would be a great fit. I've been looking on petfinder and filled out a couple of adoption applications but the dogs were gone before they got to our application.

If anyone has any leads I'd appreciate it.
