Errrr that makes me mad! Poor doggie was there before you met your new significant other and was probably so excited to be apart of the new family. Even worse the children don't know they are getting rid of her!

Where is the "reputable breeder" now? If it was one of my pups it would be back at my home, loved and cuddled, until a new perfect home was found. I'll pass the link on to any inquiries I get from the US for F1bs.

I'm with you Todd...where is that reputable breeder now? I wonder if they even told them...guess it is possible that the breeder doesn't know. *sigh*

YEP! Seriously! What is up with people? The SIGFIG's daughter could be "trained"....sheeeeeesh!!
Afraid of dogs..........hmmm.....but of a doodle?
Her kids are going to HATE this stepkid for what she is doing!
I wish she lived close by. She could come to my home and meet us........I know of a few who would take this dood and make it happier than ever!
grrrrrrrrrr

Must be my mood today, but I registered and sent this woman a message..........here's what I said.........

Quote:
PLEASE! Reconsider the sale or giving away of your Doodle!
For one thing, your kids don't even know yet and don't you think they will dislike your sig other's daughter for being the cause of this?
This daughter can learn to NOT be afraid of dogs, especially with a Labradoodle. My Labradoodle is a Service/Therapy dog. He is just 2 years old as well. I have introduced him to some of the most "frightened of dogs" people. Some have never even touched a dog before! YOU CAN DO THIS!
If you lived closer, I would gladly take your doodle.
Please don't give up!!....if nothing else.....for the sake of your own kids!

Todd,
I am seriously thinking about going to get this doodle. She doesn't need to come to my home.......I'd like to see HERS and what this doodle is like after being locked in a room when the daughter visits.
I know I could find her a good home here. It would most likely be a foster situation which this person doesn't have to know about.

My friends who just lost their Yorkie LOVE Bogart.......but they are really into little dogs.
SO! My plan would be.....if I do this.......to get them to like her and take her.
With my working with kids and "borrowing" kids all the time.....I could help. And, we have already promised our friends that we would "dogsit" when needed. I just know......if they could give up on the "little dog" thingie.......they might take her after we work with her for awhile.

I don't care for the "piddling" deal, but I bet that could change.

Let's see what her response is.
Who knows and don't hold me to it........but I could soon be taking a little drive. I have to see what the hubbster has to say about this.

My next message to her........
Quote:
Okay.........now I am writing a different story.
If what I said to you offended you, I'm sorry. But, I really feel for your kids.
I'm going to talk with my husband, but I am seriously thinking of taking her.
Good home? YOU BET!
Could you please email me some more pictures of her?
I also would like to know the extent of her training. My doodle has been trained with 3 trainers for my personal use and for hospital therapy. He's with kids all the time.
Does she get along with other dogs?
Please email me all the details possible.
Thanks,
Linda

Did she send you a nasty reply to your first email? Not surprising. Most people get their back up when they get called on how dumb they are being. I hope you are able to facilitate a happy ending for this pup.

Todd.......I haven't had a reply yet. I guess I was assuming she might get nasty, so I apologized in advance.
I'll have my BlackBerry on me all day so I'll check for a message.
I've already begun to think of all the possibilities for this girl.......but she must meet my tests too, ya know?

Also, this woman will have to give me the number of her vet and the breeder.
I hope she responds.

Quick question.........can I have TWO service dogs?? Maybe Jac will know.

Good luck in placing this doodle. I would not suggest two service dogs. It is done, but usually when the older SD is ill or retiring...it could be confusing and demanding and, doodles are so sensitive that if another dog was "taking care of their person" when it was the original doodle's job, I think that they would be hurt. Really.

I used to be a "little dog" person...until I had our Doods...now, I can't imagine having a dog so small that they have yippy barks and they get underfoot and can get really hurt...a Doodle is resilient and I love that I can thump on their sides when I give them loves...I adore the large size and would not want a small one...except for traveling.

I suspect that this person may be holding out for a money offer...and will likely get one...but didn't they say they wanted someone near them? Are you near them?

Jac........they did say that. We're about 5 hours from the Chicago area. I'd drive there. I doubt she'd drive here......so perhaps this is why she hasn't responded.

Still, they could be cordial and thank you...makes me wonder if it is legitimate...
