Sorry if this has been posted before : Wilson was a beautiful boy ……a Golden Doodle living in a rural part of Tennessee He was clandestinely dropped off one morning at a vet’s office and tied to the Front porch….no note….nothing. This beautiful sweet boy was carelessly taken To the small kill shelter in that town. Where handsome and sweet spirited dogs Sometimes must be kenneled next to some not so nicely spirited dogs. With Only a heavy canvas wall separating Wilson from a mean male dog who was Bored and had nothing better to do overnight…..Wilson found himself attacked by This dog and bitten in the eye….the legs…the ear…the shoulder. He was in his Kennel bleeding and standing with his head hung down low. Thank goodness one Of our Critter Cavalry rescue ladies walked by to see what Sweet new dogs had come to the shelter and there he stood….pitiful, depressed And in pain. She pleaded to take him out of there and to the vet immediately. They Gave in thankfully and off he went to the vet. They have kept him for 6 days and on IV’s for 3 of those days! We have stabilized this boy and are ready for him to Come out of the vet’s office….but we have nowhere for him to go and recuperate. He is a quiet boy….about 18 months old and a dear heart. We need a foster home NOW! And then we need to have him find a wonderful loving and great forever Home. He weighs about 65 lbs. |

I contacted the rescue organization and they want to recover $1200 that they spent on vet bills, I told them that was going to be really, really tough..the lady at the rescue seems to think that this dog is a 'bargain' at $1200 and insists that he is worth $2500. Unless they change their position on this I think it's going to be very difficult for them to place him.

So, the poor dog is victimized yet again...selfish, greedy people...there are other ways they can "recoup" the medical costs...I wonder, would they have saved this dog's life if they didn't see a profit? ugh

This is getting MORE SICKENING by the moment.........as on the Uk site someone said they heard a few people wanted to adopt him.
I only pray these people reconsider what they're asking .......and this poor dog gets a most deserving loving home!!!!

I think most of us are fed up with the undeserved "designer dog" label but I think our race has reached a new low when rescues are trying to profit from it.... how long before they start dog-napping to raise funds (insert smillie here for really, really angry)

As an after thought... could we raise the money for "kirama" to adopt?.... lots of members on here so it would only mean a few $$ each. Plus if we let Annemarie negotiate that'll bring the price down

They said they are trying to recover vet costs, but I told them that I would suggest they talk to the Vet about lowering his bill. I just got a new puppy so the most I could do would be to foster him for a relatively short time at this point..otherwise the homeowners assn. nazis will write me a nasty letter about having too many dogs

You would probably not want to foster either...your pup still needs his shots, not worth the risk...even for a sweet baby like this... I understand putting out money and losing it...I have had to re-home a couple of my dogs after paying for vet bills and I have paid huge amounts for dogs that I eventually lost ... but the point is, when you are in this business, you PLAN to lose money sometimes! Especially small non-profits! I ought to know...LOL Sure, it would be ideal if they can recoup the expense...but it is not likely. They want to charge the "going rate" for a Doodle, but they are asking a price that good breeders will get...breeders who KNOW the history of the dog, the parents and the health issues...and breeders who offer warranties. This poor boy comes with none of the advantages of a well-bred pup but with the big price tag. Makes me very angry... |

Aaahhh! So mad at stories like this. Franklin is only an hour away from me. McGee would LOVE a brother but there's no way I can swing that price tag at the moment. If anybody is involved in this and I can help in any way let me know. What is 'fostering'? (sorry for the rookie question, I'm still new to dog world
