Poor puppy! Dumped, scared and then to go through that!!!
High fees for "designer dogs" is something recent I guess.....saw this a while back. Check out the Adoption fee! http://bayarea.kijiji.com/dogs-puppies/ ... ad=1335153

Geeze...what a fee! And, I don't think this one is a Doodle....obviously a Poodle mix...but I don't think it is a Doodle. I sure hope that they are not dooming these pups by the high price.

This is a very sad situation. DRC offered to help with this dog, and then the "rescue" owner made known her asking price. We told her that she is asking a totally unrealistic price for a rescued doodle. She again eluded to the "going price" of breeder dogs and said this boy guy is a "bargain". She is not rescuing this dog, she is SELLING him. It reminds me of purchasing a handydman special home and then flipping it for a bargain!!!
Dogs are not a commodity you can purchase and sell to turn a profit, that is what the puppymillers do!!!! Petfinders won't even consider a listing a rescue if they have rehoming fees more than $500. Sadly, there's a lot of greedy people in this world.

Can't believe I missed this one....poor guy!!!!
I'm siding with you guys...FURIOUS!!!!! #1 - in my opinion, total fault is on the shelter for putting 2 dogs with unknown pasts and personalities next to each other and not properly seperated. I understand some shelters have limited resources - but COME ON - a piece of secured chainlink seperating the 2 dogs would've done more good than "heavy canvas". And #2 - what kind-of vet office just drops off an abandoned animal at a kill shelter? The vets office could've probably found this guy a home within a couple of day by word-of-mouth with its customers. #3 SHAME on the "rescue" organization requiring $1,200 before someone can adopt Wilson. I understand rescue organizations who ask for additional donations to recover some of the extremely high vet expense....but REQUIRING that high of a fee....why not ask the vet to donate the cost of the service to the rescue organization...that way the vet could use the donation as a charitable donation on next year's taxes? Or doing local community fundraisers? And finally - shame on that owner who dumped Wilson...how horrible. UGH --any updates on this guy? |

One more...shame on the breeder who placed the poor boy with such a careless family...and who did not require the family to bring him back if they couldn't or didn't want to keep him.
Lots of shame on humans...and yet, this sweet boy pays the price. |
