Arbed Dog Rescue URGENT 10 goldendoodle puppies in danger of euthanasia tomorrow - Jan 9th, please if you have it in your heart to foster, donate for vet, transport, please contact Debra ASAP 613 528-1764 Let's save these puppies!

How absolutely heartbreaking. I actually called but there is nothing I can do for them here. They won't even transport because they are too overwhelmed and they are putting them down tomorrow =(

I wish I had heard of this sooner. :{ I would've had a fundraiser or something to save them. *sigh* I'm too late to save those precious pups, but I think I'll try a fundraiser here anyways to help them with other expenses.

OMG...what kind of place will put down tiny puppies??? They ALWAYS find homes! What is wrong with them?

IDOG is involved!! Unfortunately the notice on Petfinder and the group's Facebook page has been removed. I'm contacting a friend who is local to Arbed's area to try and find an alternate way to contact them as they are not answering the phone.

Wow, I REALLY hope they didn't put down those puppies, that is so sad. I also thought how ironic on their main page they state that they have a NO-KILL policy. Please let us know if you reach them and if your local friend wants to grab up those precious babies and send em down here, I'll take em and help find homes for them. This is just so awful and I couldn't stop thinking about it knowing how many puppies are adopted within a day of setting foot in a shelter here. Those puppies in Ontario deserve the same chance.

"The puppies are at a puppy mill in Quebec...This rescue group in Ottawa is trying to get the 10 puppies because the breeder says she can't feed them or look after them, yet she is telling the rescue that they have to pay her $100 per dog to take them. Someone is going today, but can only take 3 as they don't have the funds to pay her for the puppies. The other issue is not having a place to keep them, so they need people to foster them until they are placed.I am going to see if I can reach out to friends and family in Ottawa to help. HOW HORRIBLE! You mean this horrible PM owner CAN'T feed them but is insisting on someone still pay to rescue them? WHAT?!?!?! The nerve of some people.

No updates as yet...from my understanding this person posted on Petfinder to "lure" people to pay $100 per dog...I don't know anything more, whether she actually is working with a legitimate rescue or not.
I think that animal control in the area should go out there and take the pups from her! (As well as her other dogs...) If she admits that she can't feed puppies (how much do THEY eat???) then she certainly can't be caring for her other dogs!

UGH so so frustrating! Yeah I obviously do not understand why a woman saying she can't feed her dogs would not at LEAST be investigated by animal control? UGH!!

Hope these puppies get into some sort of good situation whether that be foster care or forever home ASAP.

From what I can gather it seems that all the puppies were removed from the horrible puppy mill breeder. I hope she gets shut down. Anyone have specific updates?

DRC (doodle rescue collective) contacted the rescue owner and volunteered to take all 10 puppies into our foster program. This "breeder" is acually running her own puppy mill on her property, she has 10 breeding females currently pregnant or nursing!! She is operating in Quebec Province, south of Montreal. She was trying to extort $100 / puppy from the rescue community, threatening to euthanize them if she didn't sell them off cheaply!! The poor rescuer at Arbed was trying to facilitate this woman being shut down. Apparently in Quebec Province there's tons of corruption and the mills operate and the laws are rarely enforced.
The bottom line, after Jacquie and I spend last Sat morning back and forth by phone with Canada, the puppies were saved by a rescue group up in Canada. Thank God the babes are finally in a safe, clean setting. I'm afraid some $$ had to change hands to get the pups into safety. This puppy mill operator needs to be put out of business!!! Puppy mill operators are the scum of the earth.

I am so glad that the pups are saved...I am, of course, very disappointed that this puppy mill got what they wanted though...it will just keep her doing the same thing...you are right, they are scum. I can't believe that the government doesn't do something about them!
