May need to Rehome katie! OREGON!

Well, we may need to find a new home for Katie...We had a trainer come to the house and she was wonderful and we will use her techniques but she told us that Katie will never be able to be trusted around cats and she may never be comfortable around other dogs. Seems she was not socialized well as a pup and has fear agression. Our problem is that we have Madge (who is perfect), but does not seem to be as happy since we got Katie.

SO, we are looking for the perfect home for Katie. Someone who is willing and able to work with her on her issues, keep her safe inside and take her with them as part of the family as often as possible. They need to know that she does not react well around other dogs and needs consistant training in this environment. She likes to escape and is not cat friendly AT ALL. She has a history of killing kittens.

On the upside, she is a beautiful and loving dog. She has NEVER shown any agression towards any people. She is not food agressive and walks beautifully on leash. She is potty trained and has NEVER had an accident in the house. She is not destructive and does not chew inappropriate things. She wants to be with you all the time. She knows basic commands. She is spayed, up-to-date on all shots and has been treated fro fleas. She has been fed a high quality food since she has been in my house and has a beautiful, very light shedding coat.

We love her and it breaks my heart to think about finding her a new home, but if we can find someone who will love her as much as we do and help her with her issues I believe she will be a loyal compnion.

We live in Oregon (Corvallis area) and will not ship her. I will want to meet her new family. I am willing to drive her to you.

Awww...I'm so sorry, Leslie!! It's too bad it didn't work out. Wish I could help! I'll bet you find the perfect home!!

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you Leslie, but at least you tried....I'm sure the right someone will take one look at her and bring her to her forever home!! Best Wishes!

Have you tried to list her on the IDOG Rescue site as an owner rehome? They will help you with advertising and sending applicants to you to interview and decide. Unfortunately, IDOG is currently overwhelmed with stray dogs and lack of foster homes. However, as an owner rehome, you can keep Katie in your home until you pick the perfect home. good luck.
