Exclamation We have a new foster dog...

Meet Dusty. He is approximately 9 months old and is a complete sweetheart. He is kind of funny looking, but I just love it - I can't imagine him without the big goofy head! He needs to be neutered, so I'll be on the phone with the vet asap! He has no food aggression and happily follows his new pack anywhere they go. We walked them in the conservation lands this morning and kept Dusty on a 30ft rope - never once did he pull the rope tight. He was happy just being with his new buddies (who walk off-leash). The jumping problem isn't nearly as big of a problem as we expected, he is a bit mouthy but he just needs to learn to be gentle.

I'm really excited to work with him and help him to mature a little bit so he can find the perfect forever home

Kristen,
He already looks happier! He has a great smile. His head, when looking sideways, kind of resembles an Irish wolfhound. He has cute hazel colored eyes. My husband thinks he resembles Tramp from Disney's Lady and the Tramp. That was always my favorite Disney movie.

What a happy dog! I hope he finds a home soon, and enjoys the love from you in the meantime.

I'm happy to report Dusty is doing beautifully. Far better than I could have expected or hoped for! He barely jumps now (compared to jumping on everyone and every THING), he learns tricks in the blink of an eye, and he has only had 2 accidents - both of which were my fault.

The only startling news is that he has fallen in love with Annie, and Annie feels the same! Its going to be tough letting this guy go! Annie & I work so hard with him that we definitely have become attached. I just have to remember that all this is so that he can find his perfect forever home and I'll have room in my pack to continue fostering. Hopefully this work isn't for nothing and he'll remember his manners when he goes to live with his new family.

Just one picture before I take my crew for a W-A-L-K.

Oh my goodness Kristen...Annie has grown to be quite the beautiful young lady! And the love between Annie and Dusty just emanates thru the screen!!!! Wow...it's going to be tough to say goodbye to him, but I'll bet between you and Annie teaching him his manners, he'll find a wonderful forever home!

Ok everyone... cheer with me! Dusty was dropped off to be neutered this morning! I've been waiting for this day to arrive since we discovered he still had all his boy parts I'll update when I hear from the vet this afternoon.
