Internet Explorer Vulnerability Alert!!
Wed Mar 3, 2010
This was sent from NASA this morning. If you only use IE for internet browsing, don't use the F1 key for any reason while browsing. Make sure your computer is set up to get automatic updates so you will get the patch as soon as Microsoft makes it available. Also, your desktop firewall should be turned on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A vulnerability has been discovered in Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE)
that could have very damaging consequences if exploited. To further
complicate the issue, the individual who discovered the vulnerability
released the details to the general public (which includes the hacker
community) before advising Microsoft of the vulnerability. This gives the
bad guys ample time to exploit the vulnerability before Microsoft can do
the necessary analysis, development, test and deployment of the security
patches.
Unless absolutely necessary, please refrain from using IE as your web
browser. If you must use IE, please do not press the F1 key, even if
prompted to do so as this is the way a hacker can gain access to your
system. For details on this vulnerability please see the following:
