Default Vintage and Aerobatic AIRSHOW---TONS of PICS

WOW...each year there's a neat airshow near my house that is different from others we go to.
it's Vintage WW1 & WW2 AIRCRAFT SHOW

they have a 2000ft long grass strip in middle of an airfield
as their runway.
Most planes were very rare.....others were unbelievably awesome
in the size, color, beauty
and then later the Aeroabatics they performed were sooo AWESOME
and so are the people that own these: talented, friendly, and informational.

it's hard to pick just a few pictures when we took 283
as probabaly 65% came out really good.
So HOW do I choose which to post??????????????
I've blown up a few pictures posted here so
can see what i am talking about.

AT6 HARVARD PLANE...all i know is i love this pic

this pic...a woman is ON the wings aka "wingwalker"
so while the pilot does his Aerobatic tricks, she's OUTSIDE the plane
on the wing (whoa nelly!) hahhaaaaaa

Aerobatics

Dave thanking these men for serving our country. They had just gotten back from Iraq and flew up from Georgia to be in this airshow

same plane in flight .......quite bright and hazy by then too

Great pictures, Annmarie! Those are some beautiful planes.

Somehow, I expected to see Max in the cockpit - Snoopy style. :P

thanks DEB......we were there 5 hours in awe and so excited !
this is one airshow you're allowed to go up the planes

we did keep going" come on, give me the camera please!" hahhahaa

sharing one camera was interesting as DAVE knows his airplane history
and is a great photographer but he let me try my hand at learning
more on how to use our Olympus is challenging conditions.
we NEED a poloarized filter and one other lens (in the future).

Some awesome shots. Thanks for sharing.
Gliders always amaze me....takes a lot guts to be up in the air without an engine.....
Love the first shot too.

Thankfully all our boys are back from IRAQ a couple of weeks ago, hopefully yours will be back soon too!

YOU must be sooooo happy/relieved to have them home....my boys aren't in the service their ages 16.5 and 18yrs old BUT we do have friends who are over there now.
and MY other close friend, after 4 years her son is home permamently now.

the US 60Black Hawk used in Iraq...........the guys were solemn, eager to discuss their training, show us this helicopter, and when DAVE thanked them for serving our country......it was a very quiet reflective moment.

Great pic's Annmarie. I love airshows, but I'm happy with watching it from the good old solid ground, not from the top of the wings!

you're not going to believe this but we had MAJOR THUNDERSTORMS and it was rained out.
sooooooo we visited every tent, then ate tons of food , and stood under a plane's wings trying to keep dry
when i said OKAY i am heading to the transporter plane and they WILL LET us sit in there!!
they did!! hahahhhaaaaaaa and the plane leaked hahhaaaaaaaaa

we got sooooooooooo soaked, the lightening was beautiful the thunder was ominous
then we ran for our truck 2 hours later.......then headed to a place this is so famous for it's awesome bonsai and orchids
guess what? they were sold out hahhaaaaaaa

headed home watched a movie then later went to a Japanese Hibachi restaurant eating like kings and queens
while i got convinced to have a Japanese mai tai hahhaaaaaaaaaaaaa

so all in all we had fun........was great to see my son
and am i ever GLAD last year's show was one of the best in 15yrs and i took pics
cause this year it was 100% rained out! luckily we have my landcruiser cause it flooded and other cars were stuck!

Annmarie, I don't know how I missed this from last year!
My Dave's dad was an Air Force pilot...lied about his age at 17 and joined...became one of the top notch pilots...he was a very colorful character...Dave knows all about planes too. When his dad passed away, he owned something like 5 old planes that he donated to the Air Force museum...
I'll have to show this post to him...I think he will enjoy it.
Sorry that you missed the show this year... bummer!
