What do you mean by website software? Do you want to make an actual site from scratch, or are you just making a single page to put up on an existing server? Are you doing it for a business or for a personal site? What do you want the site to do?
I could make a web page in notepad if I really had to. It wouldn't be pretty, but it would do the basic job... That is pretty hard for people with no prior experience though. If you're looking for some easy to use software, google "WYSIWYG html editors" (What You See Is What You Get.) Otherwise with some more info about what you plan to do I would be happy to point you towards some resources online that could help you get started.

Not that I'm aware of, but I avoid Microsoft like the plague.
I know Word allows you to make web pages in it. I wouldn't know the first thing about it though. First things first, do you have a host for your site? It's a place online that you put your files so people can see them. Some hosts have easy to use editors that can get you a decent website and is free when you pay to host your website with them. 1and1.com or GoDaddy.com is a good place to start looking around. Yahoo used to host free pages. Not sure if they still do though. Secondly, do you have Frontpage? It is commonly included in a 'premium' office package. It is M-$oft's website editor and fairly easy for a beginner. So if you have powerpoint you may have f-page. Otherwise, look around here http://webdesign.about.com/od/htmledito ... wyswin.htm Should be able to find something that you like. Selida looks simple to use and that's never a bad thing. Look at the code from time to time to see what you are creating. HTML is actually a really easy language if you start out with baby steps! Here is a really quick and dirty guide that I found as well. http://www.buildwebsite4u.com/1-page-guide.shtml Google is your friend, but if you get stuck on something I would be happy to help as long as you don't mind waiting for replies from time to time.
