Default volunteering at my humane society

I have been volunteering as a dog walker at my local humane society for a little while now. Its pretty fun interacting with so many different dogs. Today there was something special, a litter of 6 week old schnauzer puppies. they were so small and cute. they were a puppy mill seizure and had never seen a male before, so they had me handle them for about an hour for socalization. it was amazing. just had to share my fun with my fellow dog lovers.

no, no, no third dog. well....... we are testing Hershey for breeding and if her Hips come back good were are full steam ahead. I can see a VERY high probability of keeping one of those puppies.

Its pretty amazing to take a dog for a walk that wasnt been out of its cage an 24-48h, give tham some exercise and sit under a tree and pet them. they love you like you have been their best friend for years. I only do 1 dog/day, because i then have to come home and entertain the doods. its nice finishing work 3 h before my wife, i get so much fun stuff done before i have to cook her dinner.

Wow that is great!!! I know I couldn't do it. I would have a house full of dogs!!! I couldn't give up the one that follwed me home....it would be hopeless if I had to see them in those small cages week after week!!!

I wish there were more people like you to help out these unfortunate babies!!!

That is Great you do that. That is great you give your time to help the shelter. Very heart warming. By the way I have to say I wish my husband would make dinner for me.

I'm like you, Heather - I'd be trying to take them ALL home with me!
What a wonderful thing to do though - those poor dogs really appreciate all that attention - most of them have probably never gotten it before!

That is so wonderful, not only a kind heart but a strong one, I don't know if I could walk away, I'm afraid I'd be piling them all in to the Van and escaping
