Default I was on the news today!

I helped out my friends over at Best Buy doing the "Day of Caring" for our local United Way. We did landscaping and clean up at the local Easter Seals. The other team of volunteers was from one of the local TV stations, soooooooo, they got me on the news and I didn't even know it. My cousin called me to tell me. I kept trying to avoid them (witness protection program and all ), but I guess they caught me. Now I have to watch the news tonight. Don't worry forum friends, I won't forget the little people who made this all possible!!

In Cincinnati we have a company called Media Library that will find the video you want .... yes, for a fee!

It was established because it is very difficult for each station to supply the many requests per week for video of a certain subject and/or individual. Think High School Sports Parents! But I would check the website first to see if they are rerunning the story today!

Very cool! So nice of you to help out...and so much like you!

Say, the news folks probably heard about how OLD you are and thought it would be an interesting story line..."ancient man helps charity work"...hahahahahahaha

You can contact the station and buy a clip.

(By the way, speaking of old...I typed a similar response...hit "submit" ...I thought...and "poof!" --Lost in space! Don't have a clue where it will turn up! Serves me right...I shouldn't make fun of nice old folks.)

Gene, this is extremely cool of you! Did Annmarie give you any landscaping tips?

I've been able to get videos from our tv stations. It was about $20 to cover the labor and postage. I thought it was worth it for what I wanted. Too bad no one was able to tape it for you.

Let us know if it's on the stations web site! Did it happen to be on Channel 21? My cousin is Lynn Davis on Y103 and I'm pretty sure their station is affiliated with Channel 21. I might be able to do something to help you out. Let me know.

It was channel 33. Their website didn't even mention the day of caring and they had 23 people there....go figure. Trust me, I know what I look like, and I also know that TV adds 10#.....I don't need to see that!!

I'm sure you looked handsome and hardworking and handy (as long as it didn't have to do with plumbing :P ).

I was checking different Youngstown TV websites and saw some of the news making headlines ... murder and mayhem and trials seemed to be the stories. There is an old adage in the TV News business ... as bad as it sounds, "if it bleeds, it leads". And that is the mindset in the business. I wish I could have seen your story ... But do thank you for making a difference .
