I live in Birmingham, MI.
It is one of the nations TOP places to live, shop, dine etc. Of course, I myself, don't live in the million dollar homes........and some neighborhoods are a tad more downtrodden than other. But, we all feel safe here, have beautiful parks.......high taxes just to live here and it is called A WALKING COMMUNITY..Something very TRAGIC occurred this weekend. In fact, I can hardly believe this has happened. Our police officers, I thought, were great.....but now, I just can't help but wonder what officers could possibly shoot a Lab mix FOUR times until dead. This story has broke my heart. In fact, I am going to get involved in this in some way to prevent this from ever happening again. This young man, lives in the poorer section of Birmingham. But, I have walked Bogart down that street a zillion times on my way to the gym.......no problem! SO! If this had happened on those many million dollar home sections, I wonder if the result would be the same? I doubt it and I hope this guy, who has hired an animal rights attorney comes up with a bundle.......but he can never replace his 5 year old Buddy. I am FURIOUS! I hope this video works.Dog Shot, Killed By Birmingham Police Officers - Most Popular News Story - WDIV Detroit

where was animal control?..i can t understand why 4 officer s had to respond to a dog off leash incident..
it s tragic when we loose our pets to natural causes..but, to have a public servent shoot a dog 4 times can only be label d stupid.. to prevent an incident like this from happening in our community..police no longer respond to loose dog incidents unless someone has been bitten..instead animal control is now under police administration..even on weekends.. |

Deepnite.....our animal control officer was released into early retirement due to budget???
She only worked days too. I knew her.....and I know she would have handled this situation very differently. I have been gone on vacation for the last 7 days, so I don't know where this matter rests right now. However, before I left, the community was in an uproar over the PD thinking these officers did the right thing. I talked to a lady who lives 2 doors down. She has an entirely different story on poor Buddy. She said he was the kindest dog and even the postman liked him. Buddy's biggest problem was jumping the fence, but he stayed within a few houses of his. So, here we have this sweet dog who jumped the fence and they killed him. SO very, VERY sad! Jecinta......I tried to forget this incident and many other things going on in my head while on vacation. But, no......coming back to reality and REAL life, finds me still very upset......but thank you.
