Default Water Spillage

It there anything I can do to keep my doodle from leaking water all over the pergo floor after she gets a drink? The water hangs in her hair and I would rather not shave around her face. Is there a watering system that would help?

They make this tray that goes under the food and water bowl. My black lab used to stick his whole snout in the water bowl, and when he got a little older I felt like he needed to have his food and water elevated so it would be easier for him. So we got a stand to house his dishes. The tray goes under it.

The awesome benefit to this is that he no longer sticks his face in so far, it is not a cure but it helped tremendously!!

So, when we got our doodle, he is 18 weeks old and is not nearly as big as my lab, we got him one too, to see if he would follow suit...it works...

But to make it even less messy, we added that grey tray underneath and it catches all the water they slosh around...I have a set for each of my babies...got them at Petsmart!

I hope that this could be an option to help you out!

Thanks. I am also considering a gravity water bottle like you would see in a rabit cage but bigger. Anyone using one?

We did that too, and it works but our dogs drink so much that they had to stand there forever to get the amount they wanted! lol

The 9yr old lab used that water bottle for years when he was a pup because he kept knocking over his water to play in it, hehe...

I have a mat under Malcolm's food and water bowl. But when he tried to go "swimming" in the water bowl the mat doesn't really help that much

My lab was also a messy drinker...Had to follow him around with paper towels after he got a drink.

I think it's a toss up whether Juneau drinks more water than what his 'beard' absorbs! We also have a mat under his water dish, but that doesn't the water from splashing everywhere! We also have a water dish in our bedroom but have resorted to putting a down under it because I was getting tired of walking on soggy carpets!

Sadie likes to wipe her beard on me, or the furniture, or (at the dog park) whoever happens to be standing closest to her.

You know......I needed that this morning!!! The entire picture of someone standing there being used as a towel just cracks me up!

Well, Revival......I hope you got some good advice here because I have none. I do, however, have hardwood floors that suck it in unlike Pergo. Either way, they can warp or grow dull.
Bogart has the mat under his food and water bowls......but dogs don't stand there long enough to drip the excess water off. I guess we should be happy they don't throw drool all over the place. The dogs that drool, like a Bullmastiff, would sorta gross me out!
