Default Pet Store Protest in CT 12/24/10

To all my forum friends, as you all know, puppies sold in petstores are born in puppymills and their parents spend years of their lives living in 2x3 foot cages, never knowing the warmth of a human's hand or the feel of grass under their feet, meanwhile their cages stacked 6 high are "washed down" by hosing them down, doggies and all, the urine and feces drain from the top cage to the bottom....
Christmas Eve is the busiest day for all petstores who sell live animals. Tomorrow many dog rescuers in CT will meet at "Home Raised Puppies" (ironic the name), from 10am to 5pm, the owner is a puppymill broker as well as seller. We will be demonstrating to educate the customers about the horrors of puppymills and encourage them to get their pets from reputable breeders or shelters/rescue groups.
As long as people continue to purchase these puppies from mill brokers the puppymills will continue to flourish and abuse these poor animals, sentencing the parent dogs to lifetime imprisonment, usually without EVER having any veterinary care. The millers even perform their own cesarean sections on the dogs while awake to save the expense of a vet as well as forceful debarking surgeries to keep the neighbors from finding out they are running a puppymill.

If you are anywhere in the area, come to Berlin, CT tomorrow during the day!! I'll be there with Seamus, my F1b LD mill survivor who escaped at 1 year of age.
