Bogart's day in hell...

OHHHH! my poor, SWEEET doodle!
Yesterday, we made plans with Bogart's trainer to train little Joey, our friends Silkie Terrier, to behave around Bogart.
This training will also help Joey not to get his entire little body masticated by another dog as he nips, bites, jumps and humps! He's 5 months old now and it's time he learn!

I hadn't thought of it, but the trainer said she had to be very careful not to confuse Bogart when she used to all too familiar commands with Joey.
Well......Bogart was beside himself. From the first correction of Joey, he slinked down to the ground and was looking like what the heck did I do wrong?
We started at "Joey's" house and then wound up at ours. It lasted for about 4 hours and we actually wound up BBQing with the trainer as she observed, corrected and taught Joey's owners.

Poor Bogart....he hung out at our back door and just wanted IN!
He was soooooo in the way! We could hardly get inside or outside as he flew in!
Then he refused to come out on command, and we had to make him!

I felt so bad I wanted to cry. I kept telling Bogart how GOOD he was and hugging him. But, he would just try to find a safety zone where he could go and be away from it all.

We are again puppysitting Joey after the 4th for around 5 days.
Diane and Tom are working very hard on all the new things they learned yesterday, so that we get a more calm pup and less nippy one that doesn't wear out Bogart.

I'm not afraid that Bogart would intentionally hurt Joey.....but GEEEEEEEZ!eek: Eventually, we even smack to kill a mosquito on us, don't we?
Bogart is so tolerant, but after a few hours, he MUST get rather ticked...do ya think?

Linda sorry i am laughing but i've dog sat several times mostly doodles which i must say it's easier to watch 4 doodles for a weekend than that Poodle from H E * * if you remember that one 8 days 7 nights hahhaaaaaaaaaaaa

i feel for Bogart but i'd forget training Joey and just stick with corrections if either one gets out of hand otherwise you'll all go nuts hahhaaaa

I had a blast when i watched Kirby and Dexter with my two doodles. Poor Dexter though had stitches so I had to be careful he didn't jump etc but he kept stealing my coral i have on display , kirby i did't know didn't potty on leash and i don't have a fenced yard and DEXTER i didn't know has to go out 2 times to potty once to do a pee and 2nd one to do a poop

anyway, i kept them all active brought kirby and my two in the pool as it was in the 90's and no A/C
i worried to death about the sleeping situation and DAVE took a picture of me passed out on the couch with my mouth wide open and 4 doodles sleeping around me
(guess the sleeping problem was solved)


anyway,, Hang in there it does get easier unless you have a poodle that is shy and no one told me she went potty Once a day but you had to catch her 1st to put on a leash, after 20 tries i gave up and announced i'd give $5 to my kids if they could catch her

Things are going so much better!
We are Joey sitting from this past Sunday until this coming Saturday night or Sunday morning.
It is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HOT! But, we keep the wading pool in the shade and some beds for them.
When inside, Joey goes in his crate and he is exhausted.
Last night, to my total amazement, I held Joey on the couch with me.
At the other end we have a huge beach towel where Bogart likes to lie and look out the window.
I let Joey go and he joined Bogart and snuggled. It was PRICELESS!!!
