I have thought of posting this before, but never seemed to be near a computer.
I just brought Bogart in from the pouring rain and towel dried him. He doesn't SMELL! Usually, a wet dog stinks! Why are so so blessed to have non-stinky wet dogs? :P :P

I noticed that too, Layla has been in water quite often lately, from the ocean, to the bay, to a pond behind my house (she jumped in and came out green, ugggg) and she never smells like a wet dog! It's fantastic, especially when she is still damp and it's time to get in the car and go home.

I noticed that Cruiser has a slight fishy smell when getting right down to face in fur - hugs, but that is because I take an Omega fish oil capsule and puncture it and squirt it on his food 2-3 times a week for a healthy coat.

Guess I get to be the exception that proves the rule cause McGee does smell like wet dog. Maybe he just needs more baths.

Okay.....maybe some clarificaton?
If a doodle has just ran around and played with another dog or rolled around in the grass/mud/dirt.......there may be some odor. But, just getting wet from rain or a bath..........do they still smell like wet dog?? It seemed my other dogs smelled when wet whether just out of the bath or definitely from rain. Bogart doesn't have that!

MAX NEVER Has doggy odor whether dry or wet..............BUT IF he does it means he ROLLED IN something hahhahaaaaaa
now Peanut doesn't have wet doggy odor but when dry she's a goldendoodle (not a labardoodle) her coat is double coated like a golden retriever and thick wavy to curly fleece so if she plays alot at times max's salvia can build up but a baby wipe on her head neck takes care of the odor. otherwise doodles are known for NOT having doggy odor like say rotties, pugs etc .......and i am ever glad i hate petting a dog and smelling that odor and waiting to get home to wash my hands and/or a wet dog that stinks till it dries

Why do you think this is annmarie? Because they have HAIR rather than fur?
