Remember this guy, Finnegan? Bogart's best buddy?
http://www.youtube.com/user/cappster24 Well........Amy, his owner unexpectedly has to go out of town and leaves at 4AM Thursday morning.......tomorrow........SO! We get Finn until Friday! Okay........Finn is an AWESOME dog.......BUT! He's a little crazy. You know...jumps fences and things! SO! He will be spending the night tomorrow night! I wonder how this will go?? I'm going to make the very BEST of it and clean my house Saturday! I expect to have totally snow covered & wet dogs for many, may hours romping around my house, furniture and beds! Wish us luck! I'm sure Bogart will really enjoy it!

Well annmarie.........the fun is about to begin!
Walt is out there laying down some plastic tarps on top of 8" of snow to see if that works. I have rearranged my living room and plan on a very different type of day. One thing I did say to Walt is that, at some point, I will leave WITH Bogart to go get the MIGUN massage. Bogart will need one too by that time! They lay him on a mat and he goes into the OZONE! Initially, I thought he'd hate that thing, but he loves it and really comes home relaxed. So, Walt can sit here with Finn for a little more then an hour and give me so time out!

i don't mind Dogsitting Doodles if they're trained as they listen quite well and in past only things i had to hide were some of my HUGE
Stuffed animals like the Jelly Cat collection etc. Other than that Doodles don't break things and i had 4 doodle sleeping with me when i passed out on the couch hahhaaaaaaaaa watching poodles WHOA!! they're like circus dogs and and jump from one window sill to another and i have antique bottles from Spain etc I rearranged my whole house and it took half a day to bring everything upstairs .....that was over a year ago and i told m y friend i would NOT watch her PFH again and we had a good laugh Watching leslie's doodles was FUN and alot of work but i enjoyed it

We had some fun........but the overall rating is about a 3 on a scale 0f 1-10. It is now 8AM and we are contemplating taking Finn home. Amy leaves Finn from 7 AM until around 5-6PM every single day. She said we could take him home any time and she gets home at maybe 3:30 today.........IF the plane gets in as we are expecting 3-5 inches of snow. We are both sitting here exhausted.....Finn is barking is brains out........I turned a coffee table on it's side and have Bogart in the kitchen with me and Finn is barking in the living room.........grrrrrrr..........Sorry! But this isn't working. It has me wondering how I could ever have TWO! But if doodles together are so good.........I would consider a doodle.........but this is won't work. Finn plays rough now that he's older. He goes for the ears and throat and that scares me. He got after Bogart in the kitchen this morning and that's when I separated them. I mean it's just PLAY....but sometimes simple PLAY can HURT! I now have a cranky husband, and I'm on the PC! I do have some pictures that were FUN! In fact, it was rather sunny, though cold, yesterday so they were in the yard a couple hours. It still was too cold to sit out there and someone had to be with the FENCE JUMPING GD all the time. I wanted them to play today, but it's snowing and cold and I think we all are tired........OH! And Finn will not eat! OH HAPPY DAYS!!

What you are describing is a typical first 24 h of introducing a new dog to a home. The excitement is overwhelming for them. It happened just like that when we brought home Gus, and then again when we brought home Aero. I thought they would never stop being a couple of Tasmanian Devils. They really do settle in quickly, but it does take 1 or 2 days. I don’t blame you for being tired out, it’s hard at first. Take Finn home later and get some rest. But don't give up on having two doods someday, just do it when you are ready for 48 h of madness until they settle down.

I have to laugh at the upturned coffee table! Seriously, I have big kennel panels that I put up when I need to...you would laugh at some of the things I fence in! (My bed, my computer, me. While the dogs have their freedom!)

Thanks for the comments. So, perhaps, Todd, maybe after 48-72 hours I would have been fine??
I seriously thought that if Amy's flight were delayed and we had to do another night, one of us would HAVE to spend the night at her house..........like ONE of us being my husband! We took Finn home at around noon. Jac, I got my coffee table and all the other "fenced in" stuff put back to normal and vacuumed! SHEEEESH! The hair all over the place from a beuatiful GD is amazing! After I took a bath, I even had it on my towel! Doodles are so fabulous with their non-shedding factor! I had forgotten how much hair flies around with a shedding dog and decided there is no way I could ever have a "shedder" again! I pushed myself to go to work out.......then a massage and grocery store! Slept like a baby last night! I DO have pictures........and will get around to it....someday!

LINDA as much as i feel for you i have to laugh as well
remember, i've paid my dues in fact years ago i used to watch my inlaws dogs with mine and they use my bed as a spring board for flying olympic games BUT at the same time what we call shedding in some of our doodles is NOTHING compared to most other breeds of dogs! fuzzballs around baseboards no problem........let it get on couch, my clothes i go nuts! (remember we have allergies) in fact one of my wool rugs sheds MORE than MAX could when i first got it. So LINDA...........ya sitting up with your feet on the Coffee tabl now relaxing?
